The brake shoe is a thick, metal strip that is installed in the wheel of the car. The brake shoe has a metal backing and a metal block on the end. The metal block is what pushes against the metal wheel to stop the car. The brake shoe is attached to the wheel by a spring that pulls the brake shoe away from the wheel when the brakes are not being used. The brake shoe is installed on the wheel in such a way that it presses against the wheel when the brakes are applied. The pressure applied by the brake shoe against the wheel is strong enough to stop the car, but not so strong that it damages the wheel.
