Slotted Angle shall be fabricated from steel confirming to IS : 226/1975, or IS : 4030/1973, or IS : 808/1964. Its size ( for racks ) shall be 40x40x3 mm. It shall have 8 mm holes provided at 50 mm center to center. No specific length of slotted angle is given in the specifications. The sizes available are, 40x40x18 G, 40x40x16 G, 40x40x2 mm, 40x40x12 G(2.5 mm ), 40x40x10 G (3 mm), 40x60x14 G and 40x80x12 G. The lengths available are 3 mtr ( app. 10 ft/118a ), 2.5 mtr ( app. 8 ft/98a ), 2.2 mtr ( app. 7 ft. / 86" ), 2 mtr. ( app. 6.5 ft / 78 a ) and 1.8 mtrs ( app. 6 ft / 71 a ). Length more than 3 mtr. / 10 ft. / 118 a can be achieved by jointing two angles by Lap type Method or by Butt Type Method.
