The foundation that holds your solar array in place is a solar panel mount (or solar racking system). Solar panels are attached to the roof, the ground, or another surface on your property using mounts. Solar panels can be screwed into place directly, and most panels include four or eight mounting holes through which bolts can be inserted. Attaching panels to ground-mounted racks or solar trackers that follow the sun throughout the day is a common practice in solar farms. These are normally made comprised of four sturdy corner mounts that can be screwed or cemented into place. The solar panel's aluminum frame can then be bonded or fastened to the corner mounting.
