Aluminium Bronze Bar Aluminium bronze is an alloy of aluminium and copper and therefore it has a high tensile strength. It also has a very good resistance against seawater and acids and aluminium bronze is very resistant against high temperatures, up to 400C. Because of the high corrosion resistance, aluminium bronze can be used in many applications. This material is often used in the production of gears, racks, worm gears and bearing metals with very high surface pressure at high temperatures and low rotational speeds.
