Product Overview
This Magnesia Rich Spinel is used as an additive in the magnesia - carbon formulations for steel ladles and is being strongly considered for BOF applications. This variety has been in use for cement and lime rotary kilns mainly in the transition and hot zones. As Spinel has a lower thermal expansion co-efficient than periclase, micro-pores and micro-cracks are found around the Spinel grains contained in basic linings during heating and firing which inhibit crack propagation by thermally or mechanically induced tensile stress. Magnesia rich Spinel has a very strategic composition for all magnesite formulations.
