Freely soluble in dimethylformamide,soluble in methanol. [Pharmacological Action] Pharmacodynamics: Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, active against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. It acts by binding to the 50S ribosome, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Pharmacokinetics After oral administration, florfenicol is well absorbed and distributed widely throughout the body even through feeding. Blood concentration of florfenicol is high, and half life is long. It is eliminated mainly as unchanged drug in urine. [Drug Interactions] : This compound has antagonistic action with macrolides and lincosamides antibiotics. It can influence the efficacy of A -lactam antibiotics. [Adaptation Diseases] mainly used in the treatment of infections caused by sensitive organism, such as pigs pasteurellosis, typhia, paratyphoid, white dysentery etc. [Usage and Dosage] : Calculated as florfenicol. Oral administration, 20-30 mg/ kg BW for poultry. Twice a day, continuous use for 3-5 days. [Withholding Period] chicken: 5 days. [Useful Life] 2 yrs.
