Our provided Battery Operated Rickshaw (locally called E- RICKSHAW) is newly added mode of Para-transit in urban transportation system of India. From the very beginning of introducing, the mode is being used as a popular transport mode especially by the lower, lower- middle and even middle income people of urban India as the mode involves lower travel cost as well as provides much more safety and convenience to the users during travel , than other public transports modes. The main benefits of the battery operated rickshaw as under: i.It reduces air pollution since there is no such emission from the Battery operated rickshaws as compared to auto-rickshaws using kerosene & un-burnt oil. ii.Battery operated rickshaw generates employment for economically challenged people and provides them a platform to support their families and employment to them. It helps the economically weaker section of the society to live a life of respect and dignity. iii.The use of battery and electric power helps in preserving the atmosphere as there is no pollution of any kind. iv.It is a low cost rickshaw which is affordable by all. v.The battery operated rickshaw is a faster mode of transportation than manual rickshaw. vi.A maximum of six people can sit in the battery operated rickshaw whereas only two persons can sit in a manual rickshaw at a time. vii.It is a much cheaper mode of transportation as compared to manual or other types of auto-rickshaws.
