Drive Shafts are manufactured from medium carbon alloy steel forged bars duly hardened and tempered to tolerate heavy loads during mining operations. Final heat treatment is done when rough machining is within A inch of final diameter resulting in overall strength of the shafts. Shafts splines are cut by generation method on gear hobbing machine to ensure proper fittment with mating parts. Busing seating areas are cylindrically ground to reduce friction while in operation.
