We make and supply of High Grade Women Pashmina Shawl in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. An exquisite fabric which is woven by using numerous wooden spokes called Tujis or Kanis. It is woven with the help of written instructions called 'Talim' which is a coded script strictly to be followed by the artisan. Each thread of the weft is interlocked with each color of the thread. It takes at least six months to weave a simple design kani shawl depending upon the intricacy and coverage of the design woven. The technique of kani shawls weaving has been coined as the 'Twill Tapestry Weave' by Sir John Irwin, keeper at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and a well known researcher on the subject.
