MatarA seed sowing times vary depending on the farming area. In India, Rabi season crop sowing normally takes place from October to November in the plains. It would be from the middle of March to the end of May on the hills. Sowing seed during the first week of November is recommended for increased yields. Harvest pea seed pods when they have turned brown and are dried on the plant. For the best seed maturity, wait until the leaves have died back; however, if you wait too long after this stage, the pods will break open and the seeds will fall to the ground. When the seeds are totally dried, it is easier to remove them from the pods.
