Sahiwal Cows are listed among cattle with high milk productivity level in India. These cattle originally found in Montgomery district of Punjab, Pakistan. Also referred as a Lahor, Multan etc, this species of dairy animal is especially suitable for specialized dairy projects. Brownish or grayish red body color, well developed udder and short horns are some important features of Sahiwal Cows. These can produce 2325 kg milk on average during lactation period. Produced milk has high fat content (5% to 6%) which is considered as healthy. Procured milk is enriched with globin, Beta and alpha proteins.
