Product Description

This 10% moisture content product is a white-colored tragacanth gum that is produced from the sap of the Astragalus gummiferous plant. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry to manufacture tablets. Tragacanth gum is a carbohydrate (sugar alcohol) consisting of galactose residues, with a structure like cellulose but lacking the hydroxyl groups which impart its structural rigidity. This 99% pure herb has been given the reputation to be one of the best remedies for constipation and other stomach-related problems. This 8 Mm size product is used as a thickener and stabilizer in food and cosmetic applications. The main function of tragacanth gum is to give food better consistency and stability.
