Product Overview
Coconut Shell charcoal for Carbon Pick-Up in S. G. Iron that improves the quality of metal & structural property. It is crushed to various sizes as per requirement. It may be added either to the bottom of ladle before filling with molten metal or to the surface of the bath after the ladles is filled or to the bottom of the ladle after a heel of molten metal has been poured. Also it may be added directly in the furnace. The quantity of Coconut Shell Charcoal to be used is generally 0.5 % to 2.0 % but depends on the extent of carbon to be picked up. Low sulphur presence reduces the use of Desulphuriser. It is used for Carbon Pick-up in S. G. Iron castings to overcome the problem of Carbon deficient metal scrap. It is also used as a replacement for Calcined Petroleum Coke. Yield obtained is about 75-80 % hence increases quality production of castings.
