Par Resin Treated Compressed Wood Laminates

Product Overview

Resin Treated Compressed Wood Laminates, also known as COMPREGS, are wood base laminated material made from thin wood veneers either impregnated under vacuum and/or pressure with synthetic resins or coated with synthetic resin or interlaid with synthetic impregnated paper and further bonded and densified under heat and pressure. The synthetic resins are usually of phenol and cresol formaldehyde type. They combine within themselves enhanced mechanical properties with the stabilizing and moisture proof qualities of thermosetting resins; besides, they have good machining properties, and resistance to corrosive agents and termite attack. Grades General Purpose COMPREGS is of two grades: a) High Density (or GH): This is partially impregnated high density material suitable for textile and jute mills accessories and tools, engineering and general engineering applications. Specific gravity is between 1.25 and 1.35. Presence of moisture content and volatile matter is 6 to 12 percent. b) Medium Density (or GM): This is partially impregnated medium density material suitable for general purposes. Specific gravity is between 0.95 and 1.25. Presence of moisture content and volatile matter is 6 to 12 percent.
